What is RSS?
What is RSS?
Internet experts say this is the next great thing in the Internet world. BBC, CNN, Amazon... name any top web site
and they have this orange RSS or XML buttons embedded on their sites.
RSS's most accepted definition is Really Simple Syndication. By RSS feeds, it means updates to one's web site
is delivered instantaneously to your desktop, laptop or mobile computer. Just like a bulletin board, your visitors can view and read
through your articles.
Your articles are "feed" through your readers in XML format. Readers use an RSS reader to read through
your feeds by subscribing to them. Every time you update your feed, your readers get informed through their RSS readers.
Good riddance to opt-in mails, bookmarks and favorites?
Could be. Note than emails are "push" technology. You push
your messages to your readers. In the process, not all of your messages are read through by your readers. In contrast,
RSS is "pull" technology. Your readers choose which messages to put in their readers.
