Windows Vista raises the naming bar|August 5, 2005
What's in a name?
Vista connotes an all encompassing view. Just like the panoramic bliss wallpaper in Windows XP. This could be the subliminal message Microsoft is trying to convey with its next generation operating system.
One with grander view of the operating system arena.
But wait till Linux dispute that - either subliminally or perceivably.
In the meantime, an initial salvo could possibly be raised by a company by the name of, well, Vista.
This State of Washington company has held the Vista name for six years. The owner is studying possible trademark infringement.
